Advantages of the Portable Mini IPL

Intense Pulsed Light offer many advantages over traditional laser systems, beginning with relatively lower cost. The exposure area and treatment throughput are much higher, while the system provides the flexibility to safely adapt to different skin types, hair colours and treatments in the hands of doctors, cosmeticians, nurses, and beauticians.
Wavelength ranges are selected by adding customized filters to adapt to particular applications. Treatment areas of more than 5 cm² are possible, resulting in a much faster patient treatment when compared to traditional lasers that typically can only provide exposure areas of less than 1 cm². All the above treatments use the same interaction between light and tissue. Most light is absorbed by chromophores in the skin - melanin (hair, hair follicles and epidermis), oxy-haemoglobin (found in the blood) and water. By carefully filtering the light, selecting the correct amount of energy/cm² and how long the flash lasts it is possible to treat specific areas - such as hair or age spots, without damaging the surrounding tissue. The absorption converts the light into heat.
Hair long-lasting removal: The technique targets melanin, the chromophore contained in hair and hair follicles. Light absorption rapidly elevates the temperature above 70°C - the temperature at which follicle is destroyed - making it unable to produce a new hair. Most of our hair is in the resting phase which explains why more than one treatment is necessary.
Skin rejuvenation: Intense Pulsed Light is targeted on the epidermis and chromophores in blood vessels to remove wrinkles (stimulate collagen growth) and blemishes (vascular lesions / spider veins, pigmented lesions / age spots). Collagen growth is stimulated by the light and application of proprietary creams. Small vessels and pigmented lesions collapse when heated up to 70°C - thereby reducing the number of artifacts on and under the skin.
Medical skin treatment: Excellent results have been obtained for the treatment of impurities and psoriasis.
